Birthed into being on Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year and marking the return of the light. This drum made of horse hide and oak hoop visually mirrors the balance of both light and dark. 
 
 
The Birthing Process: 
Drums are birthed in ceremony and sacred space where all elements and materials are carefully handled with respect and care from the soaking of the hides, to the crafting of the handle.
The energies that join, both the seen and unseen to guide and hold the process are acknowledged, honoured and offerings are made.
The journey of birthing is a manifestation of the cycles that surround us and are within us. The directions, the elements, the stages of life and each part of the drum holds the energy of the natural rhythms of life itself. This is why they are a sacred tool, a medicine, a guide, a teacher and whatever they reveal themselves to be to you.
