Day Workshops, One to One, Small Groups
A beautiful, ceremonial day of ancient crafting, deep connection and sacred birthing into being your own drum.
The drum moves with you, guiding you through the day, creating the start of an unforgettable bond. The beat your medicine, a gateway to other realms. Weaving, stretching, gentle care and strength. Your ally, your friend, your teacher, your guide, your heartbeat.
We work with the full hides and honour with blessings the animals, tree spirits and those seen and unseen part of the process.
These workshop is intentionally kept small, limited spaces are available and there are options to birth a drum one to one with me too.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
Craft a 16" drum with Horse or Deer Hides and choose the tree spirit for your hoop (from selection available at the time). Make a beater to accompany your drum on the day and journey to the spirit of your drum to begin your personal relationship together. Depending on the size of the hide, there is usually some left over to craft a rattle from the same animal spirit, bookings for these are separate
MATERIALS & ETHICS
All Hides & Hoops are responsibly sourced, honoured, blessed and mindfully cared for. The drums give new life to hides from end of life Horses & Deer and Deer culled from Wild herds
YOUR DRUM
Your new drum will take a number of days to dry after the workshop. During the day, you will receive ways to care for your drum and how to look after it. Also available will be drum bags to purchase on the day if you would like one
EXCHANGE
Price is related to each workshop with consideration of venue and cost of materials. All workshops have a concessional space available for those who are in financial hardship and all spaces can be paid in instalments on request.
